Senior Communications Officer– Heart of England Community Foundation

Salary: £34,114 p/annum

Location: Coventry/Hybrid

The Role: 

We are looking for someone who will use their knowledge and expertise to bring continued energy and enthusiasm to our marketing and communications approach.

You’ll be able to combine a thorough approach with a creative edge to ensure our communications are fun and engaging at the same time as being integrated and comprehensive.

You’ll need to be an excellent communicator and happy to work autonomously. You’ll have loads of self-motivation, and a track record of creating, implementing and monitoring marketing campaigns is essential, along with previous experience of digital communications, design and print production. A strong affinity with the voluntary and community sector is also important.

Key Responsibilities:

Content, Digital, PR, Website, Events & Media

  • Take a journalistic approach to proactively finding, writing and editing accurate, interesting and compelling stories and case studies from across the Community Foundation for online and offline channels.
  • Write high quality, compelling and engaging content for all channels including press releases, blogs, newsletters, case studies and project updates to increase the Community Foundation’s digital media presence.
  • Establish relationships with journalists, reporters and other media outlets.
  • Provide support for the Community Foundation’s editorial and other publications, including sourcing images, copywriting, editing, proofreading, overseeing the use of brand guidelines and liaising with external suppliers.
  • Oversee the plan for digital communications, ensuring that social media, website and other online platforms are used effectively.
  • Analyse and report on digital communications performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Support with the content management and continuous improvement of the Community Foundation’s website.
  • Provide support and oversee the Community Foundation’s events, ensuring events align with the Foundation’s guidelines and values.

Design

  • Ensure consistent application and evolution of the Community Foundation’s brand across all channels and materials.
  • Oversee the design and production of branded materials for campaigns, events, and general communications. 
  • Input creative ideas for campaigns, outputs and project communications.

Internal Communications

  • Develop and oversee internal communication plans to ensure staff and trustees are informed, engaged, and aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.
  • Facilitate effective communication across departments, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration.
