Building Better Lives
The Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of Building Better Lives. This next phase continues the vision of the original Building Better Lives Capital Grants Programme, first launched in 2018 following an anonymous donation that helped create safe, rehabilitative housing for vulnerable people.
The 2026 fund will continue that legacy by focusing on projects that support people facing or experiencing homelessness across Birmingham and the Black Country.
Grants of up to £20,000 will be available over two years (up to £10,000 per year) for initiatives that support the following:
- Providing additional capacity and resources to existing projects which unblock barriers to ending homelessness.
- Encouraging services to focus on prevention as early as possible.
- Training to develop life skills to prevent future homelessness e.g. budgeting, how to manage a home.
- Strengthening employment pathways and increasing training opportunities.
- Supporting young people (under the age of 25), and those with care experience.
- Supporting women experiencing multiple disadvantages.
